Raven came to birth work after years in more academic shoes. A certified birth doula, Raven traded in teaching university students about thesis statements and sentence fluency for helping birthing families prepare for the rite of passage that is birth. Mother to four vibrant little ones, Raven finds great joy and fulfillment in supporting birthing families both as a mentor in the classroom and as a doula in the birth room.

She is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the 2017 UDA board as the Hill AFB representative. Her passion is serving our military community and it is her hope that she can offer insight on the special needs and the necessity for doula support for military families as they are often stationed far away from family support and often their partner’s are deployed during pregnancy, birth and beyond.
