Hello everybody! I hope to get to know you soon, but here's a little about me: I have 6 kids, been married for 24 years, live on a farm, serve as the midwife on the farm. I love designing and building furniture, spending time with friends, learning, hiking, scuba diving, camping, photography, graphic design and of course, teaching. Though painfully far from perfect, growth in every area of my life is important to me, and I don't back down from a challenge. I am a certified birth doula through DONA International, GentleBirth certified instructor, and a birth/newborn photographer. Being involved in birth work has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember!

The training I have is important and necessary, but not really the core of what I do. Being a doula is heart work. Soul work. Childbirth is raw, intuitive, and vulnerable. I honor the importance of this transformative experience and strive to help create a personalized and sensitive birth space. As your doula, my goals are to help you stay in a good headspace (what your mind is doing during your birth is just as important as what your body is doing), provide education, be by your side continually, support you physically & emotionally, help you prepare for things you may not expect, and so much more. I will not hesitate to get into the trenches with you during your birth! Constant, intuitive, steady care and a calming influence are my specialty! I really look forward to getting to know you!

All parents have the need to feel safe and secure when it comes to their birthing time. For some that security will be in a hospital with everything available to them. For others it will be in the comfort of a birth center or some will only feel safe in their home. No matter where you feel the safest your birth experience belongs to YOU. You deserve the opportunity to make the decisions that will create the birth experience you want to have. My goal is that I will help you feel safe, loved, secure, seen, powerful, and educated when it comes to making those decisions.

I am a DONA trained doula and strive to continue my education. I also am passionate about women’s health when it comes to hormones and fertility and have trainings and qualifications to assist with those needs as well.

After successfully birthing 4 children un-medicated, I wanted to help other birthing people gain confidence in their body by preparing for the type of birth they desire. I completed doula training with DONA International in 2019. Since then I have gained experience by attending both medicated and unmedicated births in hospitals, birth centers, and home births (while also having my fourth baby at home). I have provided doula support for VBAC births, vaginal breech births, and c-sections. I am familiar with many types of birthing methods, including HypnoBirthing, HypnoBabies, and The Bradley Method. I was recently certified as a VBAC doula as well as in the Body Ready Method. I am also trained in reiki, safe baby massage, diabetes during pregnancy, breastfeeding consultation, and am continually seeking training to expand my knowledge and expertise.

My training has fueled my passion for the incredible birth process, the indescribable strength of a birthing person's body, and her desire to help people have the birth they want!

When I'm not attending births I am driving my children around to their activities, playing board games, spending time outside, or catching up with family and friends.
