Founded in 1994 as the first doula organization, the Utah Doula Association (UDA) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization with nearly 300 dedicated members! We strive to provide a community of support, opportunity, and education to both doulas and families seeking a doula.
Our mission is to elevate the role of doulas in our community by offering continuing education, community support, and valuable marketing opportunities. We are committed to fostering professional relationships and building community awareness about the essential work doulas do.
In the UDA, we believe in the power of collaboration and mentorship. We provide a supportive space where birth workers can network, connect, and discuss important topics such as social justice and expanding doula services to under-served populations. Through our efforts, we strive to create a community that not only supports doulas but also enhances the overall birthing experience for families throughout Utah.

You should join the UDA if you work with families who are preparing to conceive, are trying to conceive, are expecting, giving birth, have given birth, and/or are looking for support, connection, healing, and more!
Professions of current members of the UDA: doulas, midwives, IBCLCs, chiropractors, massage therapists, photographers/videographers, pelvic floor therapists, mental health practitioners, childbirth educators, perinatal fitness instructors, sleep consultants, child care, placenta encapsulators, doula trainers, reiki practitioners, belly binders, etc.
We've made memberships affordable! Doulas who choose our auto renewal membership pay only $40 a year! That works out to less than $3.50/month. Community partners who choose the auto renewal option as well will pay $20 a year which is less than $1.75/month.
As part of the Utah Doula Association mission, we strive to collaborate to provide opportunities to support under-resourced families in our community. We understand that hiring a doula may not be possible for your family for a variety of reasons. Therefore, the UDA has a birth and postpartum grant program.

-"Thank you so much for providing me this opportunity! I feel so lucky to have been awarded this grant. I was totally unable to afford a doula without it, so it was wonderful to be provided the chance to have a doula-supported birth. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Thank you!"
