Provider of the Year 2019

Brittany Sartori, RN
St. Mark’s Hospital

Brittany is a fantastic nurse! She is very supportive, gives true informed consent and let’s my clients know that they can decline anything she is doing even though it’s hospital policy. Every time we have worked with her she has been positive and supportive.

Provider of the Year Nominations

Each year at our conference we recognize a provider from the community. Nominations are open to doulas in the community, and can be found on Facebook and the Utah Doula Association website. The nominations are judged qualitatively and quantitatively by a panel of experienced doulas from the UDA. The provider who is found to be a leader in their field and a support to family centered care, is awarded at the conference by the founder or president of the UDA. This award recognizes doctors, midwives, nurses, chiropractors, therapists, and the like who are offering increasingly compassionate and comprehensive care for their patients, including prenatal and postpartum care. Dedicated to provide quality, evidence based care, these health care providers are creating better outcomes for mothers and babies not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

Doula of Distinction 2019

Whitney Lancaster

Whitney is kind, compassionate, and wise. She humbly takes on more than what she needs to in order to lighten others burdens with a smile on her face. Whitney continues to be the voice of reason and an advocate for those who would otherwise not be heard and works hard at helping people communicate effectively to minimize tensions when the steaks are high. She holds no judgment against people’s lifestyles that differ from hers and is loving to the families she serves. She strives to educate birthing people to empower themselves, to make their own choices, and enrich their bodily autonomy in supporting them and their birth partner. Whitney is love, pure and kind and gentle. We could all benefit from emulating her loving ways.
