The wonderful Raquel Alfaro
Raquel Alfaro – Starlight Doula Services

I have been working as a doula since 2014 and have volunteered on the UDA board and committees since 2015. Some of my positions have included, New Member Rep, Area Rep, Conference Committee Member, Retreat Committee Member, and special tasks. I value the friendship and mentorship I’ve gained from my membership in the association and look forward to continuing to foster opportunities for connection, education, business development, and inclusion.

I see the doula world as a heart-centered service, and it’s my intention to move forward in that space of grounded, heart-centered connection that initially called each of us to this work.

President-elect of the UDA
Sara Pixton, Doula
Sara Pixton – Summit Birth Utah
Hi, I’m Sara Pixton. I’ve been a doula since 2017, and I served on the UDA board in 2020 as the Communications Co-Chair and as a member of the Equity and Inclusion committee after its formation in July 2020. Doula work found me after the life-changing transformative VBAC of my son, and I love empowering families as they bring children into the world.
I feel passionate about the importance of the language we use as we serve our clients, and I address this through my work with my clients and other birth professionals. I love working closely with birthing families and other birth professionals and will represent the doulas of Utah with heart and commitment.
Vice President of the UDA
Yolanda Fredrickson, Doula
Yolanda Fredrickson – Aware Birth Services
Hi, I’m Yolanda Fredrickson, a perinatal educator, doula & Certified Family Life Educator – Provisional. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies with a minor in psychology and I trained to become a birth educator & doula.
I love learning AND teaching. I am a workshop & conference nerd. I also love Marvel movies and board games. As a family educator and doula, I have helped families to prepare for childbirth, feel emotionally and physically supported in childbirth, work as a team with their partner or labor support person, and transition to parenthood.
Erin Yates, Davis County Doula
Erin Yates – Born to Birth

After successfully birthing 3 children un-medicated, Erin wanted to help other birthing people gain confidence in their body by preparing for the type of birth they desire. She completed doula training with DONA International and is working towards her doula certification. Erin is trained in safe baby massage and breastfeeding consultation and is continually seeking training to expand her knowledge and expertise. Her training has fueled her passion for the incredible birth process, the indescribable strength of a birthing person’s body, and her desire to help people have the birth they want!

Clarissa Norton

After working in the medical field for several years, I left to be a work-from-home mom & be more present in raising my 6 children. After 8 years of being home, I found I missed helping and serving pregnant women and new moms. So in January 2019, I began working as a Doula. Being a Doula fills my cup and gives me the opportunity to serve women in their most powerful moments. I firmly believe that women are more powerful than they realize, and I find no greater joy than helping a woman find their strength and in serving them in their time of need. I am educated in HypnoBirthing, Lactation, and Newborn/Infant Massage. I completed my training through DONA and working on finishing up certification.
