Hi! I'm Jenessa, birth doula + creative dance teacher, wife, and mother to 4 beautiful children.
I’m the developer of Creative Dance Childbirth Education, and love supporting women as they prepare in mind, body, and spirit for childbirth and beyond. When I’m not supporting birth or my babies, I’m exploring the great outdoors, contemplating the meaning of life, or experimenting in the kitchen, all often while simultaneously singing or dancing.
I am so grateful for the families I support as they discover their innate strength and create their own stories. I believe that birth is sacred and meaningful, and that how you are treated during birth matters deeply. I believe you are the best expert in your birth. I follow your lead as your intuition guides you, continually recentering your experience and helping you feel safe. I look forward to hearing your story, and seeing where the next chapter takes us.
Brielle Bernards is a Certified VBAC Doula through The VBAC Link and a trained birth and postpartum doula through DONA. Brielle specializes in trauma (survivors of sexual assault/abuse, birth trauma, etc.). She has a very warm, calming presence and works well with those who have mental illness (anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc.). Her goal is to help you have a safe and satisfying birth and/or postpartum experience (however you define that). Whether this is your first pregnancy or sixth, you want to give birth at a hospital or at home, you want an unmedicated birth or GIVE ME ALL THE PAIN MEDICATION, she can help. She will be there to bring you whatever physical, emotional, and informational support you need before, during, and after birth.
In addition to doula services, she offers Birth Preparation Sessions and Birth Processing Sessions, including specific trauma strategies. She is also an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor and teaches the Childbirth Class as well as other classes for parents and professionals.
