UDA 2015 Spring Conference
FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2015 – Advanced Training
6pm – 9pm
Where:
Wasatch Retreat and Conference Center
Episcopal Church Center of Utah (ECCU)
75 South 200 East
Salt Lake City, Utah 84111
Description:
Make a weekend of the conference and join us on Friday evening for some advanced doula training. This class will provide birth-workers with additional tools that aim to help them better support survivors of abuse. Midwife College of Utah President and UDA founder, Kristi Ridd-Young, draws upon her decades of supporting women around the world to teach this abbreviated version of her popular, day-long class.
Students will learn to recognize psychological and physical disorders seen in adult survivors of abuse; explore common triggers and associations survivors may deal with; develop skills to communicate with clients dealing with difficult situations; and learn specific strategies to help your client navigate her labor, birth, and post-partum period despite her traumatic experiences.
This is a fabulous opportunity to level-up in your practice and gain some vital tools for supporting women and families through this tender time.
